Dishwasher/Culinary Porter
Maintained kitchen work area, equipment, and utensils in a clean, sanitary, safe and orderly
condition. Provides support to the Food Service Manager in the preparation of meals.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Washes and sanitizes dishes, glassware, plastic ware, and cutlery in the prescribed
manner, either manually, via the three-compartment sink method, or mechanically, via
the dish machine.
Washes and sanitizes pots, pans, and utensils using the three-compartment sink
method.
Washes and sanitizes worktables, walls, refrigerators, sinks, and kitchen equipment.
Maintain food and supply storage areas in a safe and sanitary manner.
Transports trash from dining rooms and deposits in the dumpster.
Segregates and removes trash; places it in designated containers. Cleans and sanitizes
trash cans.
Assist in storing food and supply deliveries.
Set up banquet tables for special events.
Sweeps, mops, and sanitizes kitchen floors.
Deliver food carts to and from dining room pantries.
Reports equipment and supply needs to the Assistant Director.
Attend in-service training classes.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
(EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and understand dietary instructions and be fluent in the English language (both written
and verbal).
